Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Salary issue

I work in the state of illinois as a claims adjuster. I have worked for this same company for 20 yrs. My wage is based on working claims up to $50,000.00 estim.value. However, I am consistantly and successfully working on claims exceeding $200,000.00. My supervisor has recommended that I be promoted/paid for doing senior rep work. They refused.

The quality of my work is very good. I have a good working relationship with my clients and my attendance is excellent. I am in my middle 60's and the oldest claim rep. My co-wrks. are earning upper $40's to near $60,000 annually. I am earning low 40's. Short of giving my notice, do I have any recourse? Might I have an age discrimination case? I thank you in advance for your response.
