Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Significant Reduction of Hours on Job

I have been working at a company for two years now. Recently they had dropped my hours so that I was working on average 4 hours per week. They then dropped me to 2 hours per week. Now, I am working 2 hours every other week. Is this legal? How many hours is the company required to give me for part-time work? I can't afford to quit, but i can't afford to keep working at this rate either.

Re: Significant Reduction of Hours on Job

Absent a contract to the contrary, as an at-will employee, your employer is not required to give you any hours at all.
