Terminated, Arrested,

In Illinois, a Person was suspended from work w/o pay for a deceptive practice(theft) allegation investigation. Person worked there ten years. After maybe thirty days Person was asked to come to the work place for more questions. After questions regarding the investigation, Person was terminated and immediately arrested and jailed. Subsequently, Person was denied un-employment pay and court followed. Also the employer froze Persons retirement account. After the court preceedings the court found Person not guilty of any wrong doing. The question for Person, what type of attorney would argue this case? Does Person have a right to sue for Defamation or monetary recovery? Person has lost a job, seniority, and quality character.

Hello. This person can file a claim against his employer for slander and libel which are both civil actions that can be filed in a court of law.

Also, he or she has a right to file a claim for wrongful discharge. In each instance he or she will have a claim for monetary damages, but time is of the essence. This person should not delay acting. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
