Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I work full time for a 24hr business, I recently decided to return to college, I was told that i am the only one trained to cover for 3 supervisors that work the night & weekend shifts. I was told by my supervisor & manager by the time we train someone that employee is no longer be with the company, or will say I wasn't trained to do that. I was also told that I must work all national holidays, & am only allowed to request one day as unavailable a year. I have worked them in the past but when i ask to have one holiday, it ends up in a fight that i always lose.can my company stand in the way of me returning to school, & am i required to work national holidays

The company is not standing in the way of you returning to school. The company is not required to adjust its scheduling to accommodate you. If your school schedule conflicts with when your employer requires your services, you may have to find another job which is more flexible.
