Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
I work for a physician's office, I'm working 32 hours a week, Monday thru Thursday. Now I was informed that I will have to work Fridays, every other due to the manager's sister wanting Friday's off. I am unable to work Fridays due to personel issues. Therefore is my job in jepoardy. I have been there 5+ years, and she has only been there 3 years. I was just wondering what my options are. Should I stand my ground. and therefore can I be fired for refusing to work a day that I am unable to.

If you do not have an employment contract you are probably an "at will" employee. An "at will" employee may be fired at any time except in certain circumstances.
You may have to learn to deal with your new schedule. Always consult an attorney in person for a second opinion.
