Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Working past a scheduled shift

I am 19 years old and I work at Target in Illinois around the chicagoland area. on some days i may be scheduled to work 5:00-10:00pm. the store closes at 10. but on some nights we may stay til 1230 at night, two and half hours past my shift. my question is, can management make you stay past a time that you are scheduled for?

thanks

Nobody can make you do anything you don't want. As long as you are getting paid for that time. Try to clarify your hours with management.
