wrongful termination

i have been a deputy sheriff for 4 1/2 yrs. and in sept.2003 a sargeant said to a chief that she saw me take three cd players from a property drawer and place them in my personal bag. the chief asked to search my bag and found nothing.he searched me and my personal locker and found nothing. after aprox. two hrs. they come up with cd players that i have never seen. and i get suspended without pay until a review.on feb 22nd 2005 i recieved a letter stating my seperation and chance to appeal. i appealed pro-se and await a response. the union lawyer was ineffective even with the evidednce in front of him showing the contridicting statements of the accuser.now i have to go at this alone and i just want my job back....can someone please help??

Hello. I assume you went before the merit board

and were denied. In my opinion, according to

the Circuit Court rules, you need to file an appeal to the Circuit Court of Cook County which

has jurisdiction to hear appeals concerning administrative decisions. However, you should not go this alone. You need representation. This process can be tricky. In my opinion it is never a wise decision for one to represent his or herself. I will be happy to answer any additional questions that you might have.
