Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
I just bought a condo with my boyfriend and recently signed a 15 month lease. How can I get out of it?

It would depend on the terms of your lease. I doubt if there is a "I just bought a condominium so the lease is terminated clause." You might be liable for rent until the landlord is able to rent the premises, or there might be an early termination penalty. But, again, it depends on what it says in your lease.
Talk to your landlord about finding a substitute tenant. If the landlord is a mangement company they may have better ability, but if not you can. Assuming your lease doesn't let you off the hook, however, even if you found someone, the best thing to do is to talk to your landlord as though you did not close the condo sale yet (right?) and look for some sympathy? Because if you need to go for a purchase loan and you screw up your credit with the landlord.....oops.
