Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
Should I call my landlord back? Can she ask for money?
I was contacted this afternoon by my current (soon to be former) landlord. Last week, the courts ruled that I must vacate the premesis by the 18th of December. The judge also said that they could not ask for any money (that section of the court document had to be crossed out by the plantiff's attorney). Can the landlord still ask for money? Why would the landlord try and contact me? This is in Chicago, Illinois.
Thank youfo your help.

I'd need to know more specifically what occurred in the court case. If there was a trial and the LL lost on the issue of back rent then likely no, he cannot ask for money...or lets say you shouldn't give him any or he wouldn't be successful in any future lawsuit.
