Early termintion of a lease

We have a one year lease on a home . we have been here six months. the company has been sold and i am beining transfered to another state . what are my options ?

First, look at your lease to see if there's anything in it that allows for early termination. There probably won't be anything, but you should check anyway. If there's nothing stated in the lease, you should check your local ordinance pertaining to rental property and see if it addresses breaking a lease. Also, you need to talk to your landlord and explain the situation. This sort of thing happens often and your landlord may be amendable to your breaking the lease and may offer a solution you can both live with, such as paying a portion of the rent you will owe for the rest of the lease term, or finding a suitable sub-tenant.
