Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
Housing/rental agreement
My ex-roommate is suing me in small-claims court. I never signed a housing agreement. I moved out without giving her notice. She was using and then dealing illegal substances. Not to mention she treated me like a live-in maid and never did dishes or other household chores.

Re: Housing/rental agreement
Well, I think the ex-roommate will have a tough time proving the case but she can try. An oral contract is entirely enforeceable it's just that it becomes sort of a he said/she said situation. Also, note that even if she got a judgment against you she'd still have to collect it which isn't always easy...you can just refuse to pay her.
