Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
What can I do about my landlord who has been asked to fix the roof of our home (about 10 times over the 2 years we have been here) and has not done it? I dont want to make him angry by reporting him and end up being evicted (we have no where to go). He owns several apartment buildings in town and is always working on them, but when it rains, it pours in our kitchen, foyer, and downstairs room. It is an inconvienence because we have to either keep our dishes on the kitchen table or rewash them when it rains. It also is causing the cabinet to come off the wall not to mention what it is doing to the walls and ceiling in the room and foyer. There is also the health risks from the mold.

I would start writing your land lord letters and create a "paper trail".
It is unlawful for a landlord to evict a tenant for doing what is right.
