Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
Landlord tenant eviction
I live in SC, but I need to evict a tenant in Chicago with a 5-day notice. Will I have to appear in court or can I send a representative?

Re: Landlord tenant eviction
Generally speaking, your appearance in court will help, although a representative could do so especially if that representative is an attorney. Do you have an attorney? These message is not legal advice because you are not as yet my client.
Re: Landlord tenant eviction
You can not send a representive. You must either appear in person or hire an attorney to represent you. Even if an attorney represents you, you may still have to appear. In many cases the attorney can resolve the matter without your appearance. If the matter requires your testimony, you will have to appear. Any questions, please call.
