How much time must a landlord give a tenant for eviction due to being behind on payments in the state of Illinois?

First you must give a five day notice, then you must follow the proper process in court to get a court order granting you possession. You will not get possession if you hadn't previously done the five day notice to quit. I'd recommend seeing a local landlord/tenant attorney about this to make sure you follow the right procedure.

Most rental situations are controlled by a written lease. What does your lease say? How far behind are you in rent? Have you talked with the landlord to work it out? This answer does not constitute legal advice becasue you are not as yet my client.
