Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
I live in the suburbs of Chicago (cook County. My landlord went into foreclosure and didn't notify me(over Year), he turned it over to the bank for a short sale and the bank contacted me about sending an agent out. I have text messages where he told me that I can live here rent free until I find something suitable, he has harassed me and now is evicting me for non payment of rent as well as association fees that I have been paying since August, I have not received no 30 day notice. What can I do in this situation?

Move out. Or stand your ground. Either way the landlord may sue you and you'd have to defend based on the lease and other evidence you have. And at some point if the property is sold you may wind up having to move out anyhow. I suggest you consult with an attorney who can help you assess your risks and options depending on what your goal is.
