Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

I lived in apartment for two years. It was a smoke free apartment. I had lost my job after 20 years and began to smoke. I did pay my rent on time every month. I also paid a fine for smoking in the apartment. I moved, had a cleaning crew clean the apartment and paint. Can you help me?

For what? Are you saying you didn't get your security deposit back? Did you have a written lease? How many apartments were in the building -- if 5 or more the State law applies and if 6 or more and the landlord doesn't live there the Chicago ordinance applies and you may have additional rights.
