Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

Can I obtain a restraining order on my landlord? He came in the house yesterday while I was out and has done so many times. I feel threatened when he does this. I gave him a 2 week notice that I'm moving and I do owe him rent. He wants to evict me as well, we do not have a written lease and he has not served me with a notice either. What rights do I have? I live in Cook County, Illinois

thank you

RIghts? No way to tell -- insufficient facts. First issue is how long was the lease for? Month-to-month, a year, what? If month-to-month, for example, normally either of you can terminate for any reason or no reason but on a full month's notice, not 2 weeks. So your notice may be deficient. You say he wants to evict you but you don't say whether he's given you notice either. A landlord has the right to inspect your premises, on reasonable prior notice except in case of an emergency, and what constitutes an emergency can be very fuzzy. So to advise you with any certainty is impossible based on the facts you've presented.
