Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
I recently purchased a piece of ground adjoining my property. I have discovered that another neighbor"s water well is located on my new land. Do I have the rights to make them drill a new well? Can I shut this current well down? Can I make them lease the well from me if they don't want to buy the parcel w/ the well?

There may very well be an easement, even if it is not in writing. I would suggest discussing this in detail with a real estate attorney in your area.
