Reclaiming property

I served tenant a 5 day notice to pay pass due rent or vacate property, before I could file the eviction papers tenant moved. Didn't call or return keys. What steps do I take to regain property, to collect past due rent and damage to property? Security deposit was left.

Re: Reclaiming property

Property is considered abandoned after a certain period of time in Illinois and you can re-enter. As for damages and past due rent, you must sue.
