Rental agreement

I rented an apartment and soon discovered it was infested with cockroaches , i moved out within the first month and was told by the rental office personal i would get back my security deposit , i'm now getting the run around , they screen their calls and won't give out the owners name or number , what can i do ??

You're entitled to get your deposit back within 45 days. Send a letter requesting that it be returned to you immediately, and stating that if you don't get it back, you will seek it in a court of law and will be entitled to damages in the amount of 3 times the deposit amount.

If they don't send it back, file a lawsuit.
