If you rented a place with 1 bathroom and it doesn't work and is the landlord's obligation to repair, it still depends on the lease. Most leases have the effect of saying you can't withhold rent but have the right to sue for breach. Take your lease to an attorney. You can also check with the local building department because if there is a requirement that every rental unit have at least one functional bathroom (with tub/shower) then you may be able to terminate the lease, but again a local attorney can help you with this.
