Dear sirs : im on a lease with my daughter at a apt complex want to rent a room out to another person who is not on the lease is there a form that protects me on this

First, you should read carefully your original lease with your landlord, because some leases have restrictions on subletting to a third party.

If it is permissible for you to sublet, you can and should consider having a written agreement with your sublettor. The written lease would protect you for all the issues that are contained within that lease.

Any real estate attorney would be able to help you draft such a lease agreement with a sublettor. Or, you could try contacting the Illinois Tenants Union at www.tenant.org to see whether they have a template lease form you could use.
