Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

It is very difficult to tell what your arrangement with the landlord is, thus impossible to reply intelligently. Is it a situation where the landlord has leased to each of you separately and expects each of you to pay 50% of the rental costs, or did the two of you take out the unit and agree between the two of you to split the costs 50-50. The reason it's difficult to tell is that the landlord is apparently willing to evict only 1 of you, and that's not usually the case. If it is a case where the landlord knows you are the $$ person, however, the landlord may be doing both of you a favor. You need to talk to the landlord because your solution may be to find another roommate or work something out with the landlord.....
