Security Deposit
Can my landlord keep my security deposit if I broke the lease early by one month and gave verbal notice? I do not owe any rent but I asked whether she wanted to keep the security deposit as the last month (that I was leaving). She never responded to my question but later stated she kept it because I told her to. Our lease agreement does not expressly state that if I leave early I would owe rent for the remaining months. Is there any thing I can do?
