Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
security deposit
After renting apartment for 3 1/2 years, in IL. I know I have to fix any nail holes in the walls but do I have to paint the walls? My landlord said that I have to. After 3 1/2 years you'd thinkk they'd have to paint for sanitary reasons for the next tenant.

Unless your lease states otherwise, normal wear and tear is part of the deal for the landlord - unless there are huge stains or similar on the walls, no.
