Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
I have been served a 5-day notice by my landlord for not paying the last month's rent. The notice not only includes the rent amount due, but also late fees, and others which I'm assuming are attorney's fees. Is this a valid notice? I thought that the notice could only include the actual rent due?

Technically you are correct if this is a statutory notice but it is really a defense and doesn't void the notice.
