If you sign a lease to rent a home in Illinois and give a deposit, and never moved in but changed your mind within three days can you get your deposit back is there a grace period to back out of a lease

There is no grace period to back out of a lease unless the lease itself provides one. Read your lease, some have an early termination penalty (which is often better than full damages for breach of lease).
