Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
Special Process Server
I tried to serve my ex landlord (defendant) with a sheriff and a special process server and both we unsuccessful. I appointed a friend as my special process server because I know where to find him. What does my friend need to do in order to serve him. My friend also knows what he looks like. Can he throw the papers at him if he refuses to take them? Any advise is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Special Process Server
The Server simply needs to give them to the ex-landlord...if he refuses them it's irrelevant. Then the Server needs to return the affidavit testifying to what he did and describe the physical description of the ex-landlord.
