Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois
In the state of Illinois, can a landlord/ realtor assessor take pictures of the inside of the home and of your personal sticky notes placed on a cabinet while a minor is in the home and you did not know they were taking pictures?

Unfortunately, Illiniois has no state-wide law regarding what kind of inspections are reasonable. If you have a lease, it may give some direction. Your community may have a local ordinance that gives some direction. Otherwise, landlords are usually advised to give 2 days' notice and limit inspections to daytime hours (8-6 or so). Beyond that it depends on what the expectation is, and the reason for the inspection. If the landlord failed to notify you of the inspection and your lease or local ordinance doesn't provide some direction, you should "complain" but beware that the next time you are up for renewal the landlord may just decide to make things difficult, and even though Illinois does have a law against "retaliatory" evictions if you are exercising legal rights, this is totally without documentation and it would be your landlord's words against yours.... Welcome to the word "loophole".
