Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

Hello,

My uncle's tenant has a lease that ended JUly 27, 2012. She refused to sign the lease renewal and therefore paid rent for the month of august and continues to live there. I dont know why my uncle allowed this, but this is the case. He told her she has until August 30 to either renew the lease for ONE year, or move out. The tenant wants to live month-to-month and states that he is asking her to leave on the basis of discrimination. (No idea what the tenant is referring to). My question is... since it IS his property and he ONLY wants tenants living there who are willing to sign a ONE year lease, how can he go about having this woman move out?

He would need to serve her with a thirty day notice. Her comment that he is discriminating against her indicates he may have problems if he does not do everything correctly. I would recommend that he contact an attorney directly to assist him.
