Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Illinois

My employer emailed out my Name, D.O.B., home address and Social Security number and now i am dealing with credit fraud and identity theft, who can i report my employers actions to? the local police only care about the actual theft to me, not the release of data that started it.

You may want to sue your former employer for the DAMAGES (monetary) that you have endured because of their negligence in disseminating your personal information.
