Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Illinois

How to get a reconsideration reversed

I filled out a reconsideration to get another judge to hear my case, because this judge is being used in the exhibits for talking to the attorney in the judge's chambers. This same judge is going to hear why I wanted an appeal, and know that I had said that judge and attorney have talked. I need to know how to get this appealed and what the codes and statutes would be?

You're asking for a lot more information and assistance than you realize.

First, make sure that, after your hearing on your motion to reconsider (which sounds like it stems from an ex parte communication between the judge and your opposing counsel), make sure your order says that it is final and appealable. Next, look at the Illinois Supreme Court Rules governing appeals (Rules 300-400), which should help you with the appeals process. Contact the clerk of courts for wherever your case is and they should be able to tell you what you'll need to do to get your record on appeal together.

There are a lot of resources on the internet to help you figure this out as well, like legal aid sites.
