What are my rights?

I had an attorney that was representing me for my divorce. In the middle of the case he decided to withdraw with no real reason. I was forced to get a loan to hire a new attorney. The judge let him withdraw without any real valid explanation. We had no mediation or arbitration before he filed the withdrawal. I told the Judge I am contesting it, but she told me I would be better off getting a new attorney since there must be some kind of ill feeling between us. I feel like my rights have been stripped. I have already put about $5k into this and now I have to start all over with a new attorney. What are my rights? I filed a suit with the ARDC, but I need to know what else I can do. I feel my attorney was a waste of money and I would like to recover it. Fee Arbitration costs more than what I have paid him. What can I do or where can I go to find out more info?

Contact the IL Bar Association concerning ethical complaints against an attorney. They will provide you with the necessary forms and information with which to file a formal complaint and have it ruled upon.

There is no charge for the grievance procedure.
