Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Illinois
I went to sally's beauty store to exchanged some products I had bought the week before, my daughter 8 years old had ask me if she can get a chap stick I took it from the counter and as i was walking down the ail she told mom i can't get cause it has Aloe and remember am allergic to it , i did not notice my daughter had left the chap stick in one of the ails when I go to check out the cashier from the store tells my daughter you young lady take the chap stick out of your pocket my daughter answer i don't have it she said yes you do open your jacket and look around your pocket my daughter started crying she told the cashier i am honest i go to a christian school the cashier responded well i have seen worse christians out there my daughter said i have a secret pocket do you want to check there you didn't let me answer you i left it in the ail cause i am allergic to aloe, I was upset i argued there no supervisor at the strore can I put a law suit for defamation of character for my daughter being acuused of steling when she did not ?

No, but I would complain to the store owner if this cashier is not the owner, and I wouldn't patronize the store again.
