time clocks

do salary employees clock in? is there a law that states once salary employees start clocking in they turn into hourly employees?

Generally, salaried employees do not punch a clock. However, if the employer wished to keep track of employees' comings and goings by having them punch in, there's nothing wrong with that. Simply punching a clock does not convert a salaried employee into an hourly employee -- in order to effectuate that, the employer would have to notify the employees that that is what is occurring, and let the employees know that you are entitled to time and a half for anything over 40 hours a week.
