Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Illinois

return of retainer

in february 2006, i paid a retainer of $1500 and before i made a court appearance, my attorney passed away and i have not received a refund. is there anyway that i can receive my money, which i had no service for, without paying another retainer to a new lawyer? it seems like that would defeat the purpose
