What happens if you are a deserter in a
time of war? What is the punishment?

I don't think they have awarded a firing squad to anyone lately. That said, UA is a serious violation of the UCMJ. If you are in the Chicago area, I could assist. You should involve a lawyer who has some knowledge of military justice. Let me know.
