Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

i was assaulted by a stranger about a month ago and would like to know if I can sue him for damages. I was cut after he hit me several times, was bleeding, and refused medical treatment because I don't have very good medical insurance. I have a scar by my eye that looks like it won't go away. do I have a case? Can I sue him for damages?

Sure you can sue him, but you may have a tough time proving damages. His side probably is going to argue that you were not very worried about it since you refused medical treatment, and perhaps your scarring would not have been as severe if you had sought medical treatment. Best bet is to discuss your case with an attorney.
