Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois
Bit into bone in sandwich from chain restaurant
While eating a chicken sandwich from a McDonald's restaurant I bit into a bone and had to go to dentist. The pain lasted two days, dentist is waiting 2 more weeks for final decision as to damage to tooth. I filled out report at the McDonald's and photographed the bone fragment. I expect the restaurant to pay for dentist bill, but what about lost day at work? What kind of settlement should I accept? thank you.

Yes, if this were a lawsuit, wages you lost as the natural and probable consequence of negligence would be recoverable. That doesnt answer your second question which is what kind of settlement should I accept?
I recommend you heal first, then consider what the costs of your injury are. Remember too, if you hold out for more than the case is worth, youll need to sue to recover. That means time, aggravation, expenses of suit (including expert witness fees, etc.) and the cost/share for your lawyer.
