Chances are you will not go to jail, but you will be given a fine which you will have to pay and you will have to present valid insurance for the vehicle.

If you were injured, there are no reasons why you should not make a claim for your injuries regardless of whether or no you were injured. Just because you did not have insurance it does not make you fair game to be victim of other drivers' negligence.

I hope this helps- if you have more questions, or need additional guidance, feel free to contact me.

You will not go to jail. You may or may not be fined if you have proof of insurance when you appear in court. Some judges will give you a break others will not. Ultimately, it is possible that if the other driver's insurance company insists that you are at fault, and claims a loss that you could end up having your license suspended if you dont pay the damages.

I agree with Nima that if you are injured, it does not matter whether you had insurance-you still have a claim.
