Normally you would get his insurance information and file a claim directly with his insurance company. If he's driving a "company truck" you can file a claim with his employer's insurance company too. Get a copy of the police report. The Secretary of State now requires you to indicate your insurance company when you apply for a license plate renewal. You can go to any Secretary of State facility and apply for this information under "FOIA". You can follow up with the police to see if this will be prosecuted and offer yourself up as a witness. If any others left their names and addresses they can be witnesses but it is always a nice idea to find out if they would be willing (sounds like it....). Contact your insurance agent too; they can do some of the legwork for you. If you have or can readily get his or his employer's insurance information get two quotes for the repairs to your car (they should also cover rental but a lot say they don't) and have his or his employer's insurance company adjust it. If they refuse by all means follow through with your insurance company too. Or, you can hire an attorney to help with all of this.

Good advice from Mr. Messutta. By reporting this to your own insurance company, their investigators will assist in tracking down the culprit. If your company has to pay to repair your vehicle, they WILL pursue the other driver and get a judgment against him if he does not pay or set up a payment plan. Good luck.
