Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois
parental trampoline use discliamer to protect us
We have just been given a trampoline for our 11 year old son. It has a net all around it for safety, and we will only allow one child at a time to be on it. Before we allow any of his friends to use it we need to know if we can obtain a disclaimer form for the parents of our sons friends to sign absolving us of any blame or loss if their children get hurt when they are playing on. Is there any such protection we can use? Thank you so much for any help you can give. We are very nervous about having this in our back yard. I hope it isn't a mistake.

Yes, you can prepare a release of some sort to be signed by each child's parent of guardian that would in effect say that by allowing to let their children play on or around the trampoline they accept all liability for any injuries to their kids of any nature whatsoever... You have to get a lawyer to write something like it.
You must also be aware of possible liability by living the trampoline in the backyard where other kids--maybe some trespassers--may have an access to it.
You should consult with an attorney before doing any of this.
Good luck,
