Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

My son and his girlfriend were in an accident, found out there was no insurance on vehicle. The kids were taken to hospital just to be checked out. My question is are we responsible to pay her medical bills on her or are her parents responsible for bill. They were not taken by ambulance her parents just wanted her checked out neither child were injured.

Whoever is responsible for having caused the accident and the injuries proximately caused by that accident is responsible to pay for all resulting damages.
