Need to acquire a legally obtained but unregistered title

11 1/2 years ago, we purchased a mobile home and have been residing in it and paying rent on the land. The title was never registered with the state and so is still listed as belonging to the previous owner. The title which was in our possession was either lost or stolen recently. What can we do to untangle this situation since we need to clear up this situation and sell the mobile home.

Hello -

I suggest you contact the Office of

the Secretary of State in Springfield.

They generally can provide a duplicate

title. At least this is the best

place to start.
