adverse possession of land

we are going to try to seek adverse possession of property that we have maintained for 20 yrs as the new owner of the property says it belongs to him according to his survey that we disagree with

you either need to file suit ahead of time or wait until you get sued

(first is better)

you need a lawyer. this is very technical

You did not ask a question, but I am guessing you want to know how to do this. This is a very complicated and fact-based situation, and there are a number of elements which must be met in order to claim property by adverse possession. Simply cutting a little bit of your neighbors grass every week is not adequate.
