Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
The agent sent me this email around October 2009.
"Bill,I just received a call from Paul about Mills home. I know this sounds unbelieveable, but she gave Paul permission to offer you her home at 147,000.If your interested and want to look at it one more time I can set up a showing for tomorrow at 5:30.Think about it and I will see you at Rock st at 5:30 today. Also would you like to look at the Ranch on 25th street again.I have time today or tomorrow.Sincerely, Dick,"
Paul is the agents buddy, and worked for the same agency.
That would put this 1300 square foot home at 112 dollars per square foot. I found out later that most homes at that time were selling for 90 per square foot or less. I know there are alot of variables, but in hindsight 112 per square foot was definetly too much.

What is your question? Was the price too much? From the facts you present, it is not even clear if you actually purchased the property. There are so many factors. Location, construction, age, upgrades, school district, just to name a few. Did you or your lender have an appraisal done?
