Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Help in breaking a shared mortgage

Me and my brother purchased a

house he was renting. weare both

listed as the owners and both have a

mortgage with both of our names on

it. Since then he hasben late on alot

of payments which forces me to

make the payments. Now my credit

is shot to hel and I have no job to

keep making the payments. He

doesn't want to sell. Is there a way

for me to remove my name off the

mortgage and leave him the property

and mortgage?
