Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
My brother is suing my friends girlfriend because he heard from my friend that he and his girlfriend had used his bed once while i was upstairs. Now my brother is mad even though my friend was trying to be honest with him thinking that he would consider friendship over separation. THere is no damage to the bed. What is the chance that my brother wins a new bed from her in civil claims court?
Thank you for your time.

Not very high. However, he may win the cost of sanitizing the bed.
This is not a real estate question, but what the heck. Your brother is really willing to spend $100 to $400 in filing fees, and take at least two days off of work for what really amounts to "bed rent?" Some questions he will need to answer: Why is he not suing both of them? How was he (or the bed) damaged? Even in the unlikelihood he would win, he would only be entitled to the value of a used mattress, which will not be much. What if his friend has faulty memory at the trial (after all, he would be testifying against his girlfriend)? How is he going to prove anyone was in his bed? I wish this was in a county a little closer, I would enjoy watching the trial.
