Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Our city is vacating a road next to property we own, neighbor petitioned for vacation of road for improvements for his business. We thought it was a simple division of the road to adjoining property owners. Am I responsible for any of the cost associated with this?

You will have to get a copy of the local ordinance authorizing the vacation to determine what if any compensation is being sought, from whom, and so forth, and if you are supposed to pay some share of it what happens if you do not pay.
