Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
If a commercial rental contract lists a monthly amount and an hourly amount, which would be the correct one to use? We used less hours renting a space than originally planned and only paid for the amount of hours used since that is what we understood from the contract. Now the landlord is trying to collect the monthly amount although their office manager stated they were renting the space using an hourly rate.
Thanks

Without reviewing the contract it is impossible to say what rate applies. If the contract is truly ambiguous, you MAY wind up paying the hourly if it is less, but ONLY after a lawsuit by the leasing company!!! Get a local attorney to review the contract.
